Redesigning an e-commerce site is easier than it sounds, especially when you need to work within the confines of an existing back-end framework. With a budget that would not allow for a start-from-scratch approach, I was tasked with updating the visual design and UI for David C. Cook publishing website. Working closely with a couple developers and looking for the "quick wins", we were able to pull off what looked like a complete site redesign. In the end, we were able to bridge an 8-year gap and bring the site up to a much more modern look. The user experience was also greatly improved as we were able to restructure the site hierarchy and add drop-down menus to the main navigation, eliminating the need for some confusing deep-linking.
